Aries Solar Power’s Socio Economic Development (SED) programme has put funding into the local community’s high school STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) facilities, funding a teaching post and a science laboratory refurbishment.
Following an extended period in which Kenhardt High School was without a single mathematics and science teacher, Aries Solar Power was able to step in and lend a hand to fund this crucial teaching post, as part of its SED programme.
The teacher was employed by Aries Solar Power and later absorbed by the Department of Education.
The second phase of Aries Solar Power’s high school STEM programme has been to fund the refurbishment of a science lab to motivate and encourage learners to take up these critical subjects.
